Welcome to The Graceful Abide —
And Why I Started This
By Keithra J. · July 2026 · 7 min read
Let me be honest with you from the very beginning — because that's exactly the kind of space I want this to be.
There was a season in my life where I was doing everything right by the world's standards. Career in tech. Boxes checked. Plates spinning. But underneath all of that motion, I was exhausted in a way that sleep couldn't fix. Burned out. Stuck — not just in my circumstances, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The kind of stuck where you keep moving but you're not sure you're actually going anywhere.
And if I'm being real? Most of my life leading up to that point had been me calling the shots. Building my own path. Trusting my own understanding. I'm a planner by nature, so handing the wheel over has never exactly come naturally to me.
But God has a way of getting your attention.
When He Said "Be Still"
It wasn't a dramatic moment. It was quieter than that — which is usually how God works, isn't it? In the stillness I was desperately trying to avoid, He met me. And what He gave me wasn't a five-step plan or a new strategy. It was a name.
The Graceful Abide.
I know that might sound simple. But for me, it was everything. It was the answer to the restlessness, the burnout, the striving. It was the invitation I didn't know I needed: to slow down, to be intentional, and to stop white-knuckling my way through life.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding."
Proverbs 3:5That verse has hit differently since that season. Because leaning on my own understanding had always been my default — and God, in His grace, was asking me to try something else entirely. Being still is still something I'm learning — I'll get into that more another time — but this season made it impossible to ignore.
What The Graceful Abide Actually Is
This is not just a blog. It's not a catchy name I came up with in a brainstorm. It is, genuinely, a calling.
I created this space for the woman who is somewhere in the middle of her own season of growth and transition. Maybe you're navigating a career shift. Maybe you're in a chapter that feels uncomfortable and unclear. Maybe you've been doing life your way for so long that the idea of surrendering control feels like a loss rather than a relief.
I see you. I was you. Honestly, I'm still becoming her on the best days.
The Graceful Abide exists to be the corner of the internet where faith meets real life — where we talk about style, intentional living, beauty, creativity, and personal growth without pretending any of it is separate from the bigger story God is writing in our lives.
What You Can Expect Here
Every piece of content I create is rooted in one simple question: does this help someone live more intentionally?
- Style & Editorial — because how you present yourself is a form of intentionality too
- Intentional Living — slowing down, setting rhythms, building a life on purpose
- Luxury & Beauty — the elevated, curated side of everyday life
- Creative Life — for the women building something while still figuring it out
- Graceful Growth — the honest, in-process conversations about becoming
None of this is going to be perfect. I'm writing from inside the journey, not from the other side of it. And I think that's the point.
One Last Thing
I almost didn't start this. The self-doubt was loud, and honestly, the timing never felt exactly right. But I kept coming back to the feeling that this was meant for more than just me.
If you've found your way here, I don't think that's an accident.
So — welcome. Pull up a seat. Subscribe to the newsletter so you never miss a post. And let's do this season of life together, with a little more grace and a little more intention.
With warmth,
Keithra J.
